Environmental Recognition for Responsible Construction Waste Management
Responsible Construction Practices
Pafilia has received a Bronze Environmental Award from the Cyprus Recycling Organisation (OAK) for 2025, recognising the responsible management of construction and demolition waste across its projects.
The distinction followed an evaluation by OAK’s Directorate and authorised officers, based on the available data and the extent to which participating contractors fulfilled their obligations under the relevant Cypriot legislation.
As a registered Class A contractor and a member of OAK’s Collective Construction and Demolition Waste Management System, Pafilia was recognised for the responsible management of waste generated through its construction activities and its contribution to protecting Cyprus’ natural and built environment.
Integrating Environmental Responsibility into Construction
This achievement reflects the coordinated efforts of teams across the business to integrate environmental responsibility into each stage of the construction process. From project planning and development to the management of materials and construction waste, environmental considerations form an important part of the company’s wider approach to development.
For almost five decades, Pafilia has contributed to the evolution of Cyprus’ real estate landscape through residential communities, landmark urban developments and integrated destinations. Alongside architectural quality and innovation, responsible construction practices remain central to creating places that deliver lasting value.
Supporting Progress Across the Construction Industry
The Environmental Awards recognise contractors that consistently meet their obligations and implement effective practices for managing construction and demolition waste. Through this initiative, OAK also aims to encourage continued progress across the sector and strengthen the environmental contribution of Cyprus’ construction industry.
The recognition reflects Pafilia’s ongoing commitment to improving its environmental performance and applying responsible practices across its construction activities. It also reinforces the company’s belief that quality development should create lasting value while respecting both the natural and built environment.
The award will be formally presented during the Environmental Awards ceremony on Thursday, 22 October 2026.
